ITI Almora was established in 1942 with an objective of imparting skills in various vocational trades to meet the skilled manpower as per the requirements of industries.

Our  Institute Managing Committee (IMC) “ industry partner is the college of engineering of Roorkee is constituted in 2007-2008 for Improvement in the field of vocational training to equip the youth with skills, education & discipline for suitable industrial employment as well as self-employment.

Institute has all infrastructure facilities needed for the overall development of skilled manpower, like Workshops, theory rooms,  Playground, and experience training staff.

There are 16 different trades of Engineering and non-Engineering field of One and two-year duration. The courses are affiliated to National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT)/State councile for vocational training (SCVT) through the Directorate General of Employment and Training (DGET) ,

Institute Management Committee (IMC)

In accordance with the policy of promoting Public-Private-Partnership, Institute Management Committees (IMC) is constituted in ITI. The Chairman of the IMC is from Public Sector/ private industry and other members are from Public Sector/ private industries – who are taking keen interest in the training of the students. Significant autonomy has been given to the Institute Management Committee including their role in selection of trainees, purchase of tools-equipments, machinery, furniture, raw material, enhancing technical skills of teaching staff, arranging workshops, seminars and exhibitions and revamping the syllabus. The members of the IMC as well as the local industries are playing a significant role in running the ITI. Chairman of IMC Mr. J.C.
